Prefects are selected towards the end of Year 10 and they serve for a year. Students have to apply in writing and are then interviewed.

Successful students attend a training programme at Lea Green before taking up their posts. This is excellent preparation for applications post 16.

Prefects have a number of varied roles about school. They support staff in the dining rooms at dinnertime, they hold duty positions at break time, they meet and greet parents at Parents’ Evenings.

We have found that our prefects are super role models for younger students, and they personally benefit tremendously from the responsibility.
